With work on the Morpeth Northern Bypass drawing to a close, a few final road closures are required to complete work ahead of the official opening.
The Northgate Roundabout and the tie-in with the A192 requires extensive traffic management and diversions.
From Monday 27 March, 2017, a short section of the A192 road north of the new Northgate Roundabout will be closed for two weeks to allow these works to proceed.
The drawings illustrating the diversions to be put in place for those weeks and all new slip roads to and from the A1 will be open, to support traffic flow.
While this work is in accordance with the Development Consent Order for the project, Carillion apologises for any inconvenience the temporary route may cause to journeys. We will, of course, endeavour to complete quickly and if possible re-open the road ahead of schedule.
Footpaths will remain open and two temporary bus stops are available near to the Carillion compound.
Thank you for your patience throughout the Bypass Project.
